mysql error: Too many connections

Hey all. I tried posting this in the BUGS area but I didn't have access to post.. Why? Also, I tried doing a search for this and nothing came up. Why?

Anyways.. What does this error mean? I get it occasionally and I get tons of emails when it happens. Apparently, the problem sticks around for about an hour before the board starts working again. Unfortunately, it never happens while i'm around...
