Clicking on signature link to different thread (w/ pictures) logs user out!

I am running 2.2.9. Whenever a user clicks on a thread link in another user's signature, and the thread it links to contains pictures, the pictures only show up as attachments (they do not load up like they usually do). When the user then clicks on the attachment (so they can see the picture) they are forced to log back into the site. I have searched and searched but can't find the bug. Any help would be much appreciated.

Make sure the sessionhash is removed from the link
So it contains ?s=&.. but not ?s=498e4b2a5c(etc)&...

Is there anyway to implement this across my entire board (without simply telling users to delete the session hash themselves)? Thanks
