"Enable Email features?" Question

I have a question about this vBulletin option:

Enable email sending features: send to friend and email notification for posters and moderators. Don't forget to remove those links from the forumdisplay, newreply, newtopic, & editpost templates

Does turning this off affect any other email functions like email verification, password retrieval, admin bulk mail, etc?
