  • Verifing Registered Users

After reading through this forum I was able to figure out the proper process for getting users to register and be verified before be able to access the VBulletin Forums on my new site.

The process seems to go like this:

After the user registers on the system the "Admin" user account gets an email telling me that a new user has registered on the system.

Next the user must verify his/her email account by replying back to the email sent to them from the system. Until then, they stay in the "Users Awaiting Email Confirmation" which I can resend the email if needed or delete the user from this group if bogus.

After the user verifies the email account they are then moved to the COPPA/Users Awaiting Moderation group. I can then approve/disapprove the user registration.

    My question is this:

I get an email when the user registers on the system but I would like to also get an email when they do the email verification. This way I would know when a user is awaiting final approve to access the system.

Right now I have to check the admin control panel several times a day to do the approve. Is there a way to be notified via the Admin user email account once someone has been moved to the "Users Awaiting Moderation" group for final approval?

    Thanks,

If you are that bothered about having to check the admin CP several times a day, then just have them verify their e-mail address, or is there a specific reason that you have to approve their membership as well?

Yes the VBulletin system is a "CLOSED" system for our employees only.

      Any ideas?

        Maybe a hack needed?

          This requires hacking.

That is such a shame to have something so little require hacking especially for just an email notification. VB already has email notification for new users registrations. How hard would it be to also have an option for email notification to the administrator when the user has verified their email address?

            What about VB version 3?

            Does it have this feature?

If not, could it have this feature?

            Thanks for your reply.

Honestly I don't know if vB3 does this or not.
