    Hi:

Found it! There was an obsolete snippet of JavaScript in the footer that referred to a script that had been removed long ago. I have no idea why that would all of a sudden start acting up after I reverted the user profile templates though. Before I reverted them I looked at the code and there were no JS references at all unless they were written into the PHP itself. Very weird.

I am using IE 6 as well. I'll reinstall it as maybe this is a Java VM problem.

It's hard to say since I can't duplicate the problem with IE 6. What borwser atre you using?

I also need to add that I never modified that template and the signupadult template also appeared to be modified so I reverted that back to original as well. The only thing I can think of is there have been times when I asked for help here and some team members and advanced members were in my admin and may have made modifications. The only templates that I have modified

Steve: The php include is the original, and the JavaScripts on the page are my navigation menus, which have always been on my web site and the forums and could not possibly be causing this error. They have nothing to do with the forums at all. I have checked that code and it has not changed at all. I have no hacks installed other than the archive hack by VBSpider which from my understanding is practically a stand-alone hack.

I have tried re-loading my browser and re-starting the machine, and I still see the little Java error triangle at the bottom of the page in the browser bar. Are there any other templates that could be causing this?

P.S. I just accessed your forums and did not get this error.

I have no idea how reverting those template could casuse this unless you have some hacks installed that rely on those templates. My guess is that this error is probably coming from a javascript you have in your headinclude or phpinclude template.

    SIGH!

OK, did that, now my forum is reporting a Java error in the browser as follows:

    Line: 605
    Char: 1
    Error: Object Expected
    Code: 0
    URL: http://www.aquariumpros.com/forums/index.php?s=

I also need to add that I never modified that template and the signupadult template also appeared to be modified so I reverted that back to original as well. The only thing I can think of is there have been times when I asked for help here and some team members and advanced members were in my admin and may have made modifications. The only templates that I have modified are for design changes (changing images and adding HTML so the forums woul match the rest of my site.).

    Hi:

My modify options template is original, but the modify userfields is not. Should I revert that back to original?

The problems are not related. You need to revert your modifyoptions template back to original.

Custom User Field Problem in VB 2.30

    Hi:

I have a custom user field called "How did you hear about us?" which was required in an effort to stop spammers in my old 2.28VB. The field WAS set so that it was required, not hidden, and was user-editable.

After up-grading to 2.30, users that try to edit their account could not see the field, and when up-dating their profile, were informed they had not filled it out, but could not see it to fill it out, even though I did not have the field set to "hidden." When I made the field optional, it re-appears in the user profile and all is well.

However, I am very worried about my database as this is the second problem I have had with it since upgrading. I had a problem the other day with user and userfield tables not matching. I used the script shown at:

    http://www.vbulletin.com/forum/show...8984#post248984

to fix that problem and it did. Now I'm afraid this new problem is related.

I have phpmyadmin installed but am very inexperienced with it. I had it installed by my host so the VBB team could use it to troubleshoot problems.

    Please help with any suggestions.
