  • How do I use a backupped database?

I lost my forum a few days ago. Luckily enough I made a backup. But I'm seriously a newbie to MySQL and database stuff. Can someone tell me how to use the old database for the forum?

    Thanks a lot, Wildcard.

GL man...I went round and round with this for a week.

How I finally did it was to just take the backup, open it up in wordpad, and through phpmyadmin put it into the box that allows you to run queries piece by piece...took me about 6 hours to do

Ahh nevermind guys it works again.

I just uploaded the SQL file and thought it would just work.

Then I read the tutorial better and saw you had to import the SQL file in a real database. So I did that with Telnet and it worked.

Xiphoid thanks for posting that url man... it really helped me
