  • Moving servers...new url

Ok, I am in the process of moving servers and changing URLs. I already updated the url in the members area here. The site is down on the old server so I won't be running multiple vB boards.

A few questions (which I am sure have been answered before, if so you can just point me to the threads as I can't find them on my own).

#1 - I was looking in the manual and it tells me how to install the board, but I don't see where it tells me what to upload from the downloaded zip file. Do I just upload the upload folder? I know I have seen these instructions before, but I don't see them in the manual.

#2 - How do I use a backup from the old board. I have the vbulletin.sql file from my last backup (which isn't as recent as I would like, but it is better than nothing.

    Thanks guys...

Hmm I know this is an old post but what if your old host doesnt let you telnet/ssh ? A lot of them dont these days . Just curious because we will be changing urls soon as well and would like the least amount of headaches

      Thanks

Then you're best bet is to ask your host to do this for you. Personally I would recommend not moving to a host that doesn't offer shh access.
