    I am having the same problems. Sometimes it is the user table sometimes the thread table. The errors just started a week ago, and they are happening about twice a day.

    What else could be going wrong. I am still using 2.6
    and am going to upgrade to 2.9 as soon as I fix this.

    I bet at parties you let other people tell jokes and you chip in with the punch line, right?

    I don't believe it.
    How do you do it?
    You picked exactly the right moment to beat me to it with the query.

    Your user table is corrupted. To fix this run this query in phpMyAdmin:

    REPAIR TABLE user;

    View your forums again with the correct technical email set and let it mail you the error report.

    Yes.

    I haven't tried individual threads, but I'd assume it was the same. Everything else on the site works except the vb at this point.

    So you receive the error just by viewing your forum home?

    That's just the thing. It happened when I was not online.

    I got on my computer and found it.

    What were you doing when the error happened?
    Can you make the error happen again?

    As admin you keep the address active or change it in /admin/config.php.

    Code:
    // technical email address - any error messages will be emailed here
    $technicalemail = "[email protected]";
    If that address is inactive, update it to an active one and try to duplicate the error.
