  • Restoring a database in phpmyadmin

Am in the process of shifting hosts.

Have backed up the whole database for my forum from my previous host and am trying to upload it into my new database.
However am having errors that report syntax errors.

Why is this so and how do i go about correcting it ?

Pls advice , am at my wits end here.

(Ps...have gone thru some of the other threads, but i do not have SSH access ), now open!

If you do not have telnet or ssh access, your best option (other than finding a more suitable host) is to ask your host to restore this for you. It would only take a few minutes and it's the least they can do for denying you this access.

A lot of hosts disable SSH, due to security issues, but if you request it, they will often enable it, but monitor you while you perform the actions required. I would send an email to your host, along with a full description of your problem, and how long you will need SSH access enabled for.

      Good luck
