  • A Mac OSX user...has a weird all the browsers

    First of all, ya'll know I'm on Mac OSX and using the same version as this member. I'm also using the same browsers as she.

    I can't replicate her problem but thought I'd post about it here in case someone has heard of this:

    She is on Mac OSX (10.2.4 the latest version) and is using the latest IE, netscape and Safari browsers. the same thing happens in them all. She has G4 IMac (just like me)

    She is using Norton personal firewall and Norton Internet Security. (i'm not)

    On view threads...she doesn't get a REPLY button.

    She has a POSt button but the REPLY button is missing at the top and the bottom. No red X. No missing image icon. Just missing. Not clickable. Just gone.

    I had her check in all browsers and in all the styles of our website (we have 3 but the html in the templates are all identical)

    Its odd because I can't duplicate what she is seeing...and I must admit its an odd one. I had her empty her cache (with the browser closed) in case she had cached a file without that image/link.

    Nope, that didn't work.

    Any ideas?? Here is the code in my template:

    <!-- Thread nav and post images -->
    	<table width="100%" border="0" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0">
    		<td width="100%"><smallfont color="{tableheadtextcolor}" class="thtcolor"><b>Thread &nbsp;&nbsp; $pagenav</b></smallfont></td>
    		<td><a href="newthread.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=newthread&forumid=$forum[forumid]"><img src="{newthreadimage}" border="0" alt="Post New Thread"></a></td>
    		<td><a href="newreply.php?s=$session[sessionhash]&action=newreply&threadid=$threadid"><img src="$replyclose" border="0" alt="Post A Reply"></a></td>
    	<!-- /Thread nav and post images -->
    I'll attach one of her screen shots from one of our styles....but it is in tiff format and not accepted by the attachment management in vb.

    This would be most likely be the problem. Have her disable Norton Internet Security, and see if that fixes the problem. If not, also disable the firewall software.
