  • Need clarification: Site Title Edit

A search reveals that my question has been answered at least in part, but I'd like more info, please:

What excatly do I edit in the admin CP -> Forum Display Templates
to change the "Site Name - Powered by VBulletin" to "Site Name - Descriptive Proprietary Title"?

I've tried "forumsdisplay" $bbtitle - $foruminfo[title], but no dice there.

    Thanks!

There are many templates like the forumdisplay template with the code: <title> ... </title> in them.

If you want to modify the title on each page, modify the templates that generate those pages.

    forumdisplay has this code:
    <title>$bbtitle - $foruminfo[title]</title>
    Replace it with
    <title>$bbtitle - Descriptive Proprietary Title</title>

the forumhome template has this code:
    <title>$bbtitle - powered by vBulletin</title>
    Replace it with
    <title>Whatever you want ofcourse</title>

When you test it, make sure it is not loaded within a frame, and that you have cleared your cache.

This is going to be a real pain to do.

... or you could try a templatewide replace of "- powered by vBulletin" with ""

Not sure how this will affect the license agreement as this is not exactly a copyright notice.

You dont need it in the title, you must have it in the footer though

Actually you can remove the "powered by" part from the footer too.

I believe the minimum copyright notice is "vBulletin: Copyright ©2000 - 2003, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd."
