    ...isn't working for me. I guess I need FreeType to be installed as well?

    No, but your server needs GD installed.

      I have GD installed (as confirmed by the phpinfo script), but the image doesn't load in the register page, I just get an "x".

      With what parameters should I configure my PHP installation so it works (I have a dedicated box).

        Did you revert your registration templates back to original? Is regimage.php in your forums directory?

          I just upgraded to 2.3 rc 3 from 2.9 last night, and am having the same problem.... according to phpinfo I am using GD 1.6.... I've also reverted my registration templates back to the original.

          This may be a silly question, but I'm new so please forgive me: what did
          you mean when you asked "Is regimage.php in your forums directory?"
          I know what regimage.php is, but what/where is the forums directory?
          Told you it was going to be a silly question....LOL

          Thanks,
          Kyle

            vbimage($image);
            I even tried to do what Freddie suggested above...... Still no luck....

                kyle0515, the forums directory is the main vB directory.
