email members kills the server

Choose a smaller number of members to email at a time. Your server can't handle the load you are giving it.

when i email the members it crashs the server. have over 20k members so what am i doing wrong? is there a hack or addon that solves this? there must be something because i know others are emailing their members and we all can't be crashing the servers

i can't be the only one out there with this problem.
