    All,

Has any one come up with a way to slow the flow of e-mail from database issues? I am running 10+ forums and any time our db gets cloged up etc. I get 10000+ emails. The mail admin's here are really startting to get mad when this happens. I would like to recive a few e-mails 1-2 a min but 10000 is a little much.

    THanks

I'm the webmaster for one of the sites lordb is referring to, and I run a few other, unrelated vB sites. The webmaster alias sends to an addy on my dedicated mail server. It's only a 500 MHz pentium with 512 megs on an OC48, but should far exceed anything I need.

Anyway, when MySQL went down this morning (for about 30 mins?) vB sent out 13,000 error messages to my server, which essentially hit me with a DoS for about 30 minutes.

Thought I'd chime in, siince it wasn't just his company mail servers and admins that were effected.
