    VB Version 2.2.9

    I am having problems with the img tag in vb code.

    I was under the impression that it came as default with vb but when i go to custom vb codes ( modify ) i cannot see it there.

    Do i have to write the code for the img tag?

    Currently i cannot get the img tag to display the image - instead it just shows the url. I need it to display the image for a hack i am working on.

    You can see an example on my forum at http://www.hostcompanies.com/forums/...php?threadid=6

    That url is set in the img tag, so why does the image not show up?
    If you click on the url you will see that the url is correct and should show the image.

    Any ideas anyone?

    The url does not go inside the tag, it goes between them
    [ img]http://www.mysite.com/myimg.jpg[ /img]

    You also have to enable the use of this tag on a forum-by-forum basis in the ACP

    ACP -> Forums & Moderators -> Modify -> {a forum} -> [edit]
    Allow BB IMG Code in posts = Yes

    To allow this tag in sigs, you must edit another setting in the ACP

    ACP -> vBulletin Options -> [Posting Code allowances (vB code / HTML / etc)]
    Allow vB IMG code in signatures? = Yes

        Make sure you disallow the use of dynamic URL's in the [ img] tag.
        This can help to prevent your board being hacked when users link to off-site images.

          How is that exploited? Couldn't you just use a dynamic clickable URL?
