  • Run install.php script

    I am installing Vbulletin for 1st time. How do I "run: /admin/install.php" script? This is all very new to me.

    I have the files uploaded into a "forum" folder but do not know how to "run" the script

    Thank you.

      1. Fill in your connection details in config.php before uploading it to your /admin directory.
        Code:
        // hostname or ip of server
        $servername="{your database server's name or ip}";

        // username and password to log onto db server
        $dbusername="{your database uesename}";
        $dbpassword="{your database password}";

        // name of database
        $dbname="{the name of your database}";

        // technical email address - any error messages will be emailed here
        $technicalemail = "{your e-mail address}";
      2. Load up http://your.forums.directory/admin/install.php in your browser

      3. Follow the on-screen prompts.

        Holy @#[email protected]!

        That was easy. Thanks for the help. My board is up & running. I just need to go in now & finish setting it up.

        Thanks Again!

            Yes, that is one of vB's best features.
            Ease of use comes as standard.

              This is a first time installer after all.
