  • Some users not getting activation code

Hey, my boards just opened yesterday and it was working fine, but this morning about 3 people emailed me saying they didnt get their codes.

What can I do to fix this?

I also got this email from vBulletin

    Database error in vBulletin 2.2.9:

    Invalid SQL: SELECT userid,username
    FROM user
    WHERE userid<>
    AND (usergroupid=5
    OR usergroupid=6
    OR usergroupid=7
    OR usergroupid=2)
    ORDER BY RAND()
    LIMIT 1
mysql error: You have an error in your SQL syntax near 'AND (usergroupid=5
    OR usergroupid=6
    ' at line 4

    mysql error number: 1064

Date: Monday 27th of January 2003 12:32:17 PM
    Script: http://www.avriltalk.com/forum/forum/index.php?
    Referer: http://www.avriltalk.com/forum/admin/index.php?action=head
    ----------------------
    What does that mean?

Also, when I click on Who's Online I get an error saying

Fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in /home/avriltal/public_html/forum/online.php on line 166

Can someone please help me out?

As I said earlier, it was all working fine yesterday.

Are any email functions working? If so, you will need to view the mail logs on the server to see what happened to those emails. Once vB sends it to PHP it's in the hands of the server. If you are on a shared server you may need to ask your host to look through the logs for you.

For what it's worth I get a lot of bounced emails from people who's mail boxes are full, 'unavailable' or over quota. This is a particular problem with hotmail and yahoo accounts. Unless you are on a dedicated server and can set where these bounce messages go, you will never see them. The mail logs will have a record of these though.

For the other problems, reupload the original index.php and online.php files. Make sure you upload in ASCII and overwrite the ones on the server.
