  • forum#.html --> How's it done?

    This might be one of those things that I just don't see, but at a couple of forums I've noticed that they use .html extensions for their forums(ie:[ie]www.yourdomain.tdl/forums/forum#.html[ie: GTPlanet.net{they use f-#.html} and WebDesignForums{uses forum#.html}]), how is this done? I've been trying to figure this out for a while now, but either I'm too blind to find how it's done, or it's something completely esoterric that I passed over a couple of times and never understood. Can someone tell me how it's done?

    Thanks!

    Through source code hacking - addons, mod_rewrite and other tricks.

    A simple hack I used here: http://creations.nl/forum/archives.php/ can be found here: http://www.vbulletin.org/forum/showt...threadid=47667

      Thanks, xiphoid, but I'm trying to find out how it's done for forumhome and/or forumdisplay, that's an archive like the vB3 Archive...not entirely what I'm looking for.

      Thanks

        The awnser is mod_rewrite and ForceType .. those hacks are just examples of how i have done it. There are enough other info's on vbulletin.org to do what you want. browse around. I just pointed the right direction.

              Can't you just configure Apache to interpret .html files as PHP and change the extensions and do a find and replace on all the files?
