  • myPHPadmin: Backing Up

Whats the best settings to use while backing up my database via myphpadmin? I ran the export function and the database was about 65 mb. Sounds about right? I just want to make sure I am backing it up correctly just incase my upgrade from 2.2.2 to 2.2.9 fails. Thanks in advance

Do you have access to SSH or Telnet? If so, there's a much more reliable way to backup your database via it.

You might have some timeout problems backing up your 65MB Board via phpMyAdmin.

Hmm.. I haven't telneted into my website for a while. Just to refresh, this is what I did and got stuck..

      Start>Run...>Telnet <enter>

Connecting To www.gopednation.com...Could not open a connection to host: Connect
      failed
      Microsoft Telnet>

      where'd i go wrong?

Majority of hosts idsable tlenet, as it's highly insecure compared to telnet. Use that instead.

Ok.. I am using secureCRT and I logged on. But when i try to back up.. it says "user block limit reached". I assume I don't have enough HD space on the host? What can I do? Can I save it remotely on my local computer?

Hmmm...I've never heard of that particular error. I suggest asking your host what this means.
