  • Guideline on setting up public /members vbBoard

    Our vBboard is currently members only.
    We would like to begin making segments viewable to the unregistered public through our website.
    Any suggestions or tips on organizing these separations?

    Are there an underlying principles, for example;
    - to begin with general permission settings at OFF, and turning specific permission settings ON?
    - or turning general permission settings ON, with specific permission settings at OFF?

    I would very much appreciate any advice or basic guidelines on setting up a board that will have whole categories as well as specific forums separated for public view.

    This is going to be a big step for us as we tie in website publication with our vBBoard, while still desiring the integrity of having members only forums/cats that we can initially develop our content.

    Tia,

    You could make sure that certain members are in certain usergroups and then goto the forum permissions and setup per each forum the permissions for those usergroups. This way you can be sure that they can see or can't see those forums. And it is easier to destign. the normal registered members from the rest.
