  • Multiple Instances of the same VBulletin

How would i go about creating multiple instances of VBulletin on my site?

(ie the same bulletin board but accessed from a different location)

    eg: http://www.yourdomain.com/messageboard/index.php

    and
    http://www.yourdomain.com/testing/bl...oard/index.php

The second instance would be used for testing purposes (and in a completely different template etc).

    What does everyone recommend?

You would need to point both forums to the same database in the config.php files.

For a testing forum it would be better if you just setup a new database so it was completely separate.

      Confirmation

So you mean actually install 2 instances of it (that point to the same DB)?

Just copy the files to the new location and they'll point to the same db. Do a fresh install (or dump the db and throw it into a new db then edit the config.php file in the new testing site) to have it point to a second DB.

That way your testing site won't accidentally blow out your live one.
