  • EMERGENCY HELP! My BB is down.

I need some fast help on this one! My BB has been running fine untill today I started to recieve alot of emails sayin that there is a "Database error in vBulletin 2.2.8:" and they all vary but all have "mysql error number: 1016". Where and how do I go about fixing or re-setting my BB.

    the URL is: http://www.alfabb.com

    Thanks in advance!

    Regards,

    Simon

Ok I have tried both and am not getting anywhere! I tried both

    repair.php?html=1&check=1 &

    repair.php?check=1&iterations=4&forum=vbdatabase

and only got the following output.

    -----------------------------------------------
There seems to have been a slight problem with the database.

Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

    We apologise for any inconvenience.
    -----------------------------------------------
    -----------------------------------------------
And this is the new error Im getting now in my email

    Database error in vBulletin :

Invalid SQL: SELECT template FROM template WHERE title='options' mysql error: Can't open file: 'template.MYD'. (errno: 144)

    mysql error number: 1016

Date: Friday 20th of December 2002 11:34:56 PM
    Script: /bb/forums/index.php
    Referer:
    -----------------------------------------------

Does it matter that my initial repair file says "repair.php for mysql 3.23 or greater" on it?

This is what came with my 2.2.8 ZIP?

Please advise on how I should move forward.

    Thanks,

    Simon

if you look at source code on the error page you'll find the exact mysql error
Invalid SQL: SELECT template FROM template WHERE title='options'
mysql error: Can't open file: 'template.MYD'. (errno: 144)
to fix you need to upload repair.php from your vB zip file to your /admin directory and run this url

      yourdomain.com/admin/repair.php?html=1&check=1

            Eva2000,

Thanks for sticking with me on this one.!

The entire forum is still down and Im not getting to far with the hosting company. Im on a shared box so they dont give users SSH access.

To answer your question the server is running PHP Version 4.2.3 & mySQL 3.23.39

              Run repair.php again.

Or go into phpMyAdmin and run this query:

                Code:
                REPAIR TABLE template;

Run repair.php then. It should fix the adminlog table's corruption as well as the template table.

If it gives you a DB error, then View Source the page. The exact error should be in comments. Post it here.

Error code 122: Disk quota exceeded

You have exceeded your disk quota. You'll need to contact your webhost and ask them to increase this for you.

Read my previous response. Repair.php won't function because you do not have enough disk space for the script to make temporary backups of the tables. You need to contact your host and ask them to increase the amount of disk space they allow.

Im not sure exactly how big my DB is but Im supposed to have 200mb of space. Is there a way to view my DB size. I did do a back up to my local machine a few days ago and it was only like 4mb?

I'll try to contact the goons at my hosting company and I'll let you guys know what happens.
