    User struggling with logging on

One of my users is struggling with logging in. His explanation is as follows:

    1 entered Solwise forum
    2 Logged in
3 "thank you for logging in Tony King"
    4 "Welcome back Tony King"
    5 view today's active threads
6 select item (master faceplate, author bredbored) I have had 2 fails
before trying to post reply and one success.
    7 select Post Reply
8 "you are not logged in.................."
At least it's consistent. Perhaps I've screwed up somewhere. I suscribe
to approx. 20 NGs without this problem.

Can any tell me what is going on? I have checked his user profile in the control panel and all looks normal. I am using version 2.2.9. I haven't had anyone else report this problem.

    Any help appreciated.

    Kind regards

He is old enough by a long shot - D.O.B 1938 actually

He has made two posts already so he can get in eventually. I think there is something that he is doing wrong but i can't figure what it is.

      cheers anyway

I have that happen myself sometimes when I visit other forums, I have found it to be a cookie problem. If they go to tools/internet options/privacy/edit and enter your website address and click allow, it should take care of that.

IE blocks a few sites (their cookies that is) and maybe he has yours blocked too. Most users who tell me they don't turn out to have a firewall turned on to block cookies, it was IE or their proxy.
Otherwise let this person log out, close browser, remove cookie manually from the harddrive and open browser, login again and see if it works this time.

Let him or her check these options and hopefully it will resolve.
