  • How can I move to new server if I cant Telnet?

I read the instructions on how to move the board to a new server..but what if I don't have Telnet access (or know-how)?

When I try to backup my server now thru the control panel (save data to file on server) I get mysql errors:
    ----
Database error in vBulletin Control Panel 2.2.9:
Invalid SQL: SELECT * FROM attachment
mysql error: MySQL client run out of memory
    mysql error number: 2008
    ----
Database error in vBulletin Control Panel 2.2.9:
Invalid SQL: UPDATE session SET lastactivity=1040173914,location='' WHERE sessionhash='45e44dfb182c34663398b2a63fba77c0'
mysql error: Lost connection to MySQL server during query
    mysql error number: 2013

Is there any other way to move?

The only reliable way to backup is through the shell (telnet). Backing up through the Admin CP is unreliable, especially for larger databases. Here is a guide for moving servers ( http://www.vbulletin.com/manual/movingservers.html ). If your host doesn't give you shell access then you should ask them to backup the database for you.
