I do not know the effects this will have on your board as a whole, i did that by request. also old acounts will have to be updated to use cookies.

Not sure what you mean by 'getting rid of it', but there are no real downsides to changing the user options I mentioned.

I don't see the 'numbers and letters' in your message, but I'm assuming you are talking about the sessionhash. To get rid of these you need to set the User CP options of 'Automatically login' and 'Browse the board with cookies' to 'Yes'.

I wouldn't suggest you remove the session hash.
In your options, go to the User CP --> Edit Options

Look for 'Browse board with cookies?' and set it to 'Yes' - the gibberish will disappear.

why do my forums have all these numbers and letters in the links like this?

/forums/showthread.php?amp;threadid=82

i see that most of the forums i go to have links like this, /forums/showthread.php? how do i get rid of all those letters and numbers in the links if possible? thanks
