My server time is set properly for my timezone (EST) when I go into ssh and do my uptime command it reflects the correct time.

Yet when I go into the forums (which are set to EST in the admin panel) the time is an hour ahead.

    Any ideas?

You need to set the timezone in the Admin CP to match the timezone of the server your forums are running on. Then each user needs to set their local timezones in the User CP.

I have done that, the server time reflects my EST time - yet when I set it to EST in the admin CP the time is an hour ahead

Without accessd to the server in question it;s hard to say why this is happening. If it's consistently one hour off, then the easiest thing to do is just compentsate for this hour in the time offset in the Admin CP. Problem solved!
