  • Email notification flood when rebooting server

Rebooted our server today afer almost 6 months of uptime. Now I'm getting flooded with emails from my users telling me that they have received a flood of email notifications from old threads (where there haven't been new posts in a while).

Any ideas what might be causing this?

One thing to note - my server time seems to be off by an hour after I reboot (damn BIOS clock is off), so I had to resynch with the time server - I'm wondering if this has something to do with it.

    Any ideas?

The 'lost' emails were probably just stuck inthe mail queue somewhere. You may need to reconfigure your mail server to periodically resend queued mail.
