Threads with attachments in them taking [i]really[/i] long to generate?

Well, maybe not really long, but noticeably longer than index, forumdisplay, and showthread for threads without attachments. Also generates a high server load.

Converted from phpBB2 to vBulletin just this morning. (the attachments in phpBB2 were just converted to IMG or URL tags at the end of posts linking directly to the files)

Any ideas? I've tried repair and optimize on all tables.

I have never experienced anything like this. What are you attaching? It may be related to the file size and doing reads out of the database. Especially if you have a busy board.

In vBulletin 3.0, you have the option of securely storing those attachments in the file system so it may be more like what you are used to. I am not sure how phpBB handles attachments.

The attachments are JPG's no larger than 100kb, in a thread of about 80 posts (4 of them containing attachments since it was converted to vBulletin).

Now that more threads have gotten attachments, it seems as if the problem only happens when a thread has a lot of posts

And it is somewhat busy... there are 10-15 people on it at any given time

I don't suppose I can do much about it myself, but do you want me to post mysqlinfo.php? If anything's awry with it, maybe I could coax my host into fixing it, couldn't hurt to ask I guess.
