    started a topic PHP Memory l eaks

    PHP Memory l eaks

    http://pirate.planeterion.com

    Server Type:
    Linux (PHP v4.0.6 - MySQL v3.23.47-log)
    FILE_UPLOADS disabled

    Running vbb2.2.9

    ever since upgrading from vbb2.2.2 in the last couple of weeks. i have been getting fatal errors on vbb
    mainly when users try to post new threads

    we have allocated 30MB to PHP but for some reason these memory leaks continue
    server reports that the leaks are occuring in /admin/functions.php

    there are 2 hacks installed in this file
    and i thought that this might originally be the problem
    but i returnt the file back to its orioginal state and the errors still continue.
    we cannot continue to keep upping PHP's allowable memory size, because it should not nee the amount we have given it.

    ( we never had these problems on the old host)

    exact error is -
    Code:
     Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 33554432 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 200460 bytes) in /home/paforum/www/html/admin/functions.php on line 518
    line 518 =
    Code:
    516     while ($var=$DB_site->fetch_array($vars)) {
    517       if ($var['findword']!="") {
    518         $newtext=str_replace($var['findword'],$var['replaceword'],$newtext);
    519       }
    520     }
    would appreciate anything you can suggest

    Cheers
