  • How do I "rename" download links

I am moving a set of forums and the links and attachments all point to the old url.

    IE:
    the link was: http://OLDurl.com/vbulletin/attachme...mp;postid=1909

    the link should be:
    http://NEWurl.com/vbulletin/attachme...mp;postid=1909

The DB is the same DB, just the site has changed.
I did a search for the OLDurl.com in phpMyAdmin and came up with only 1 hit to a non related line.

I was able to get "hits" by running a grep on the SQLdump file, but didnt want to go running sed on it until I get some answers here.

Did you change the url to your site, in the admin cp setting's?

Yes! that was the 1st thing to change after the move, and it didnt change a thing in those posts.

Are we talking about links in posts or links in vBulletin itself?

Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.

Attachments in posts (or perphaps "as posts")
so if you click on the link it sends you a file such as:
          oldurl.com/vbulletin/attachment.php?s=&postid=1909

Set up a replacement variable in your Admin CP (for all styles you may have) that replaced "oldurl.com" with "newurl.com". That should put an end to the problem.
