  • Email Verification Help

    When I try to register a new user, I get this message:

    Warning: Server Error in C:\Web Pages\MiniMax\forum\register.php on line 517

    line 517 of my register.php is as follows:

    mail ($email,$subject$message,"From: \"$bbtitle Mailer\" <$webmasteremail>";

    This is a fresh install of my bulletin board. no modifications.

    any help would be greatly appreciated
    Thanks

    Is SMTP setup correctly on your server?

    Upload mailtest.php from the extras folder and run it in your browser and try to send the email using that. If it doesnt work its a problem with SMTP.

        In that case the PHP is setup incorrectly, contact your host and first ask him to check that the SMTP server is setup. If so then check that php.ini has the write smtp server set

          Thank You, that is what I needed to hear. We've got a young punk here that set php up here and I'll talk to him.
