  • Can someone please help me?????

    I am getting these errors and i dont know how to fix them

    Database error in vBulletin Control Panel 2.2.7:

    Invalid SQL: USE vbdatabase
    mysql error: Access denied for user: to database 'vbdatabase'

    mysql error number: 1044

    and


    Database error in vBulletin Control Panel 2.2.7:

    Invalid SQL: USE .access
    mysql error: You have an error in your SQL syntax near '.access' at line 1

    mysql error number: 1064
    can anyone tell me how to fix this and why i can't bump my database and how can i run the repair tool that is in vbulletin2.2.7

    I would love to thank anyone taht can help me with this....

    This error means either:

    1. One or more of the following is wrong in your config.php file:

    $dbusername
    $dbpassword
    $dbname

    If you are unsure of what the appropriate values are then you will need to ask your web host.

    2. Or that this db user is not assigned to that database or does not have permission to access MySQL to create a database. You may need to first manually create the database and assign the db user to it. Since each web host is different, if you do not know how to do this then contact your web host for help.

      can you please tell me why I can not dump my databases the last dump of them i did Sept 27 was 18.9 meg I try dumping them now and they are only 910 k any idea what could be going on?

        Are you using the instructions found at http://www.vbulletin.com/manual/movingservers.html ?

          As Cary points out, the only reliable method of backing up and restoring a database is with shell access via telnet or ssh. The link he posted explains how to do this. This is because backing up with a PHP script like that in the Admin CP can result in timeouts errors and an incomplete backup file. This is what happened to you.
