Do I load VB2.9 alone, or are there
other files to be loaded with it?

  • #2
I do not really understand with what you mean with 'loading'.

If you already have a vBulletin installed on your server, you need to upgrade to 2.2.9 RC with the upgrade*.php files. See the instructions for those.

If you do no yet have a forum installed, then please read the installation instructions which explain how to start.

If you still have a question, feel free to post it, but please give a bit more detail; so I could understand it better.

When I upgraded from 2.5 to 2.8 I believe there were three
other files or something I had to include with the 2.8 upgrade.
Are there any additional files that go with the 2.9 download,
or do I just upload the files?

I forgot to thank you. Thank you!!!!
I keep forgetting that it isn't an upload that is needed
but a .php file to be run. In this case 22.

If I have custom hacks installed, how will it affect the upgrade? Will I lose them, and have to reinstall? Thanks!!

              BTW- I'm on 2.2.8

Yes, you will lose all hacks and will have to re-install them.

DOH!! That is exactly what I thought....

I think I'll wait for 3.0 to come out before going through all that again!

                  Thanks NTLDR!!

Or you can use Araxis Merge or Beyond Compare to merge your hacks into the new files. I probably won't be upgrading to 3 for a while, if ever, so I wanted to finalize my board with the final 2.2.9 with all my hacks before letting it rest.
