  • Difference Between the "IMG Tag" and "Graphic File Attachment"?

In practical use, what exactly is the difference between (1) using the IMG tag and (2) attaching a graphic file? When would someone want to use one, instead of the other? Thanks in advance.

[img] tag means the image file is remotely hosted, ie. not on your server, so you don't use up your own bandwidth. The attached graphic means the image file is uploaded into your database, and is on your server, so your own bandwidth is used.

Wow, Erwin, so you could save a lot of bandwidth if you don't allow attachments, but only allow the IMG tag!

Is there any security problem with the IMG tag?

Is there an easy way to get people to upload their images to some other domain that I could set up?
