  • words too long in thread

Sometimes, members post words (that are nog really words) that have too much characters (200+). The table is forced to a too large width --> my design ****s up. Is there a solution ? Something like wordwrapping ?

Admin CP --> vBulletin Options --> [Thread display options]

Look for 'Number of characters before wrapping'

I tried that, but it screwed up images embedded in everyone's posts/sigs, i.e.

Is there a way to do the wrap JUST for forumdisplay? Every now and then I get a bozo who thinks he's cute by making a thread titled "XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX" (or something similar) to break all the thread tables in forumdisplay.php.

That would require some hacking. You can either moderate threads like that as they come, or post a hack request on www.vbulletin.org .

You could also edit the maxlength value in the newthread template.

Something like 30 would be reasonable.
