  • [Q] Restore deleted thread?

    Hi, all

One of moderator on my forum accidentally deleted the thread which was very important one. Is there any way to restore them? I didn't backup DB for a long time though.

    Thanks in advance.

    Then you're outta luck.

One thing you may want to do now is make a new forum called Trash Can, Recycling Bin, etc. and make it a private forum. Then, remove delete permissions for absolutely everyrbody. Finally, when you want to delete a thread move it to that new forum. When you want to get rid of all the threads in the trash can, just mass prune that forum.

I have a somewhat recent backup

I have a recent backup and would like to restore just one thread is there any way to do this?

Of course I do not want to restore the entire backup.

There's no easy way other than restoring the whole dump.

Yes, compare the database dumps manually for differences.

Actually, if you have MySQL setup to store SQL Update logs, you can restore a single thread/post/user from those logs.

Also lets you do incremental backups in a nice easy fashion.
