  • Upgrading to vB 2.2.8

    This will be my first attempt to upgrade from my previous version of vBulletin 2.2.6 to v2.2.8.

    I read all the instructions... but want to know the easiest and safest way to do this... I already did the backups...

    Kindly post hints... Just to make sure everything will run fine...

    <moved to correct forum>

    1. Shutdown your forums

    2. Backup your database (preferably using shell access via telnet or ssh.)

    3. Upload all the files from the vB 2.2.8 zip file, except:

    - install.php
    - the files in the 'extras' folder
    - the files in the 'images' folder and subfolders

    Make sure you upload all non-image files in ASCII and that you overwrite the ones on your server.

    4. Run upgrade20.php

    5. Run upgrade21.php

    6. Reopen your forums.
