      1. Make sure you have upgraded to the latest version of vB (2.2.8)
      2. Add htaccess protection to your admin and mod directories.
      3. Change all Admin and Mod passwords.
      4. Report this to your host (in case the server is being compromised)

And once you fix the current situation *deep breath*
        1. .htaccess the admin folder (I'm writing a tutorial/script on how to do that)
        2. Change your password to be at least 8 characters of random uppercase, lowercase, and numeric characters
        3. Always stay up to date with your versions (2.2.8 is the latest)
        4. If you have phpMyAdmin installed, really really password-protected that
        5. Disable Telnet if possible and use SSH only, and make sure you have a very good password for that
        6. Disable anonymous FTP
        7. Avoid major hacks that could disrupt the security of the forums
        8. Disable HTML in all forums, signatures, and PMs

More will come to me but those are all good...

I know, it's a total newbie question, but is the best way to disable that within a post, to just filter out "http" or "www"?

Admin CP > Forums and Moderators > Modify > Edit (for each forum) > Allow HTML Code in Posts to No.

            Or run this query:
            Code:
            UPDATE forum SET allowhtml = 0;

              *EDIT.

Hmm, I didnt try the query yet, but when I checked each forum, HTML was actually disabled, but it still works in the posts.
              Thats a bit odd.

              Any Ideas?

              TIA

Yes it is. I don't see how that could be.

                  www.vbulletin.com
                  are appearing due to vbcode
                  None
