  • Users Unable to Log In

    Hi,

I have been having issues with users being able to log in to my forums. They enter their log in information, it tells them they are logged in, and then shoots them back to the index where it still says "you are not logged in."

Just this afternoon I received these two emails from users:

I Tried to delete cookies and stuff like you said and I can't still login.
I type in my pass and Acc and it goes back to the Login screen.

    Any help would be appreciated.
    and another:

my login is not working right. I can see a page respond, then it asks me to log in. or I'll log in then the next page will say "thank you for loggin in " hten it will bring me to the log in page once again. what the hell is goin on?
In the past, I have advised users to clear their cookies and make sure that "browse board with cookies" it set to "on" in the user control panel. In these cases, both users said that it didn't help. I had been holding off on posting here since I thought that the vBulletin v2.2.7 upgrade was to have addressed this, but it appears that it didn't help (I am running 2.2.7).

Any ideas on what I can tell these guys or do to prevent this?

    Thanks!

If some of them are using IE6 make sure that their privacy settings aren't set above Medium.

The first of the two users responded with this:

"I am using internet through Cal State Long Beach servers, And I'm using IE"

Still waiting on the second guy to respond.

Any idea what might be causing the problem? Thanks!

The other user responded with this:

              Using AOL.. Via DSL connection.

It works when i use my Internet explorer.

it used to work with the aol. but not sure why not know.

I can use other Eplorer, but would like it to work with my aol.
Is there any reason why it wouldn't work with AOL, or more specifically, the AOL Browser?
