  • database error while pruning posts

    this is what i get while trying to prune some posts off my general forum:

    Database error in vBulletin Control Panel 2.2.8:

    Invalid SQL: DELETE FROM attachment WHERE attachmentid IN (2979,2977,3016,2986,2973,2988,2989,2990,2983,2987,2974,3196,2991,2980,2975,2985,2972,0) AND attachmentid NOT IN (0,0)
    mysql error: Can't open file: 'attachment.MYD'. (errno: 144)

    mysql error number: 1016

    i tried running the repair script, but it cant fix my attachment table. and i cant prune posts to make it smaller....so what should i do?

        your attachment table is corrupted you need to repair using one of these 2 methods

        1. or using mysqlcheck repair for 3.23.38 and above

        i.e. in shell/telnet/ssh type while mysql is running and forum is CLOSED:

        mysqlcheck -r -u mysqlusername -p databasename

        2. or via myisamchk repair functions while mysql is shutdown/stopped in shell/telnet/ssh type :

        myisamchk -r -u root -p databasename

        option #2 most likely requires server and mysql root access to first stop mysql and then run myisamchk repair options.

        also check your mysql data partition for free space

          okay...i have no idea how to do any of that....so i copied and pasted that into a trouble ticket for my host. hopefully they'll figure something out.

            Yes if on shared servers/hosting you need your host to do that
