any way to stop error email messages?

We had some major "connection" problems with our board last night (for about 5 hours or so), during which time, folks were receiving the message that there were "too many connections at this time", and that an email was sent to our "technical staff".

Well, I got home to about 6000 email messages in my inbox (all EXACTLY the same!) and wondered how this could be prevented in the future? (these were all automatic error messages sent to me by vBulletin)

I mean, they were all the exact same message. Is there any way to RESTRICT it so that only 1 message is sent to the technical staff in case of errors, or 1 every 15 minutes or something.

Needless to say, this filled my inbox and prevented me from receiving other urgent messages.

You can remove the technical email address from your config.php file. However if you do this you will not get any error emails and if something happens to your forums you may be unaware of it.

I'm sorry but I guess I was unclear in my earlier message. I don't want the emails STOPPED entirely, but is there any way to restrict it so that we don't received 1000s of the same error messages over and over again?

Not that I know of. You might want to see if there's a hack for this over at vbulletin.org.
