    Hello,

I have installed vBulletin, configured it, and it works great. However, I have an existing membership database that I would like to use in conjunction with vBulletin. Ideally, when a new user registers on my site, I would like for them to only have to register once instead of doing it separately for my site and for vBulletin. I think this is what needs to happen:

    1) User submits info from my registration form, including username and password.
    2) After inserting that data info my member DB, I insert the username and password into the vBulletin DB.
    3) Write a vBulletin cookie to the user's machine so that the user is automatically logged in every time he/she visits the forum.

I don't want the user to have to log in to my site and then log in to vBulletin to access the forums. Also, I don't require vBulletin to validate email addresses - my existing framework does that already.

Can someone point me in the right direction? What code do I need to copy to accomplish the above? Am I missing any steps? Has anyone done a similar hack/mod?

    Thanks!
    Cheers,
    Jorge

Your best bet would be asking this question over at http://vbulletin.org. All hack/code modification questions should be asked there.
