  • Admin Functions Suddenly not Working

I noticed over the past few days: whenever I try to do some updates to user accounts or other things in the control panel, I get this error:

There seems to have been a slight problem with the Forums database.
Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

    We apologise for any inconvenience.

Database error in vBulletin Control Panel 2.2.4:

    Invalid SQL: SELECT userid
    FROM user
    WHERE username='Realspeedy1'
    AND userid <>
mysql error: You have an error in your SQL syntax near '' at line 4

    mysql error number: 1064

I can log in fine and look stuff up fine but when I try to change anything, I get that. It has worked fine for over a year now.

    Thanks for any help!

This problem is caused by the latest versions of PHP which have broken some of the functions of older versions of vB. Your host must have recently upgraded to PHP 4.2.x. Unfortunately the only fix for you is to upgrade the vB 2.2.7.

        That fixed it. Thanks!
