      I found this response by SMACHOL;

This error means that one or more of the following is wrong in your config.php file:

      $dbusername
      $dbpassword
      $dbname

...or that this db user is not assigned to that database or does not have permission to access MySQL. If you are unsure of what the appropriate values are then you will need to ask your webhost.

However, the username, password and dbname are all correct!

Then you'll need to ask your host. It sounds like they changed something on you.

          new information!

OK, i have done some serious thinking and may shed some light on what has caued the problem!

It appears that shortly after activating another MySQL database (for phpAdsnew), this error occured.

When i access phpMyAdmin and select the Vbulletin database and login with my username and password, it opens up the phpAdsnew database?

So, somehow i thing they are related. yet when i access the vB files via FTP, they all appear to be there!

So, i need to ask, should each database have a separate username and password to access phpMyAdmin? As i have used a single username and password to access the phpMyAdmin area.and hence when i log in it takes me to the "other database"!!!

I see all my databases with one login to phpMyAdmin.

Config.php is not a script you 'run' directly. My original advice still stands - you need to contact your host.

apart from the fact that my host has not replied to my requests as of yet, I
have perused to find the problem with my Vbulletin service.

I have created a 3rd MySQL database to test if it was created ok, which it was.

I then removed that database as well as the second database that was created PHPads.

Upon doing so, i clicked the link for the myPhpAdmin which finally indicated that there was no vb database??? Dont know why but apparently it is no longer there!

So, now I am lef tto ponder! Should i simply re-install everything again??

And would i have lost all my settings etc???

                            actually it is hsphere!

when you say that there may be a problem with hsphere, are you saying there is a compatibility problem with hsphere and vBulletin???
