Use phpMyAdmin. PhpMyAdmin is a MySQL database management tool. Most web hosts provide this as part of the web site management tools such as CPanel, Plesk or Ensim. Look for a link to SQL or MySQL Databases. If you can't find it I suggest you ask your host about this.

If for some reason they do not provide phpMyAdmin or an equivalent MySQL manager, then you can download and install phpMyAdmin yourself from this location:

    http://www.phpmyadmin.net/

No. This only prevents new subscriptions.

for email notification, run this query on your database:

    UPDATE user SET emailnotification=0

    for email on pm:

    UPDATE user SET emailonpm=0

    backup first!

you can also override the user's preference for email notification by editing a few templates:

Admin CP -> Templates -> Modify -> [expand list]:

editpost. remove the code in red:

<br><input type="checkbox" name="email" $emailchecked value="yes"> <b>Email Notification:</b> emails sent to you whenever someone replies. Only registered users are eligible.

New Posting Templates -> newthread and newreply. remove the code in red:

<br><input type="checkbox" name="email" value="yes" $emailchecked> <b>Email Notification:</b> emails sent to you whenever someone replies. Only registered users are eligible.

now the "Email Notification" box will always be unchecked by default. users can still manually check the box if they wish.
