  • Ban a Username that has a space?

    In the "Illegal user names" field of the "User and registration options" in the Admin CP how would I make it to where no one could use the name "Jeff Ward" (notice the space)? Because in the description of "Illegal user names" it says:

    Enter names in here that you do not want people to register. If any of the names here are included within the username, the user will told that there is an error. Separate names by spaces.
    so how would you do this?

    I suppose you'd have to put in Jeff and Ward but that would mean Jeff and Ward cannot be used at all in usernames

      Good question. I just tested this with single and double quotation marks but that didn't work.

            I just looked at how vBulletin stores it in the setting table:

            Code:
            mysql> select value from setting where title ="Illegal user names";
            +-----------------------------------+
            | value                             |
            +-----------------------------------+
            | admin administrator filburt arien |
            +-----------------------------------+
            1 row in set (0.00 sec)
            It doesn't look like it's possible. I thought about this before and wondered what vB would do in such a situation. Perhaps the delimiters should be newlines instead of spaces.

                Commas would be good also.
