  • PHP 4.0 and vB 2.26

I'm setting up a friend's vBulletin and I notice a very slow load at times after making a post or reply.

This board is a brand new installation that went smoothly. It has all of 3 posts and is in otherwise stock condition save for the following:

I added Xiphoid's hack to separate the categories from each other.

The board still loads slowly and is unable to load the white background behind the categories. I know my friend's server is running a new install of MySQL, but the php is version 4.0. The server also has 512 megs of memory and is on an OC-3 line.

Is my problem the PHP 4.0, or should I be looking elsewhere? Maybe at the server itself?

Here is a link to the site in question.

    Thanks for the help.

Due to bug fixes and enhancements to resource usage and memory, you should upgrade your friend's version of PHP to at least 4.1.2.
