registered users not able to browse

  • registered users not able to browse

    I have numerous registered users who say that after they log in, they try to post something and get an error message saying, "you are not logged in or do not have permission to view". Most people have no problems but a select few do; one of them is a moderator. And sometimes, when they go to a different computer, they don't have any problems. Any suggestions on what I can tell them?

    I have the latest version

    did they activate they're account by clicking on the link in they're email?

      Are these members AOL users? There appears to be an issue with AOL. The AOL proxy server is changing the IP addresses with each access. From this thread:

      "The problem is that AOL runs its users through a proxy and therefore changes IPs on each access, thus preventing the user from keeping the same session."

      Also there is a problem with the AOL browser as well:

      The only suggestion we have at this time is to have users use a browser other than IE.

        They are not AOL customers but that revolving IP address sounds like it's a possibility.
