  • Really need help...

    When I or anyone else tries to access my forum I get the following:

    There seems to have been a slight problem with the dssRookies database.
    Please try again by pressing the refresh button in your browser.

    An E-Mail has been dispatched to our Technical Staff, who you can also contact if the problem persists.

    We apologise for any inconvenience.

    **Viewing the source code I see:

    <!-- Database error in vBulletin 2.2.5:

    Invalid SQL: SELECT user.*,userfield.* FROM user LEFT JOIN userfield ON userfield.userid=user.userid WHERE user.userid='6'
    mysql error: Can't open file: 'userfield.MYD'. (errno: 145)

    mysql error number: 1016

    ** I tried to query the userfield table using phpmysql and get error:

    SQL-query : [Edit]

    SELECT * FROM `userfield` LIMIT 0, 30

    MySQL said:

    Can't open file: 'userfield.MYD'. (errno: 145)

    *** I do not have root or telnet access. I'm thinking I'm going to have to recreate this table somehow...

    Any words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    you have a corrupted table, you need to repair it via one of the following methods
    ===================
    1. via phpmyadmin

    using query

    REPAIR TABLE userfield;

    2. you need to upload repair.php from your vB zip file to your /admin directory and run this url

    yourdomain.com/admin/repair.php?html=1&check=1

    3. or using mysqlcheck repair for 3.23.38 and above

    i.e. in shell/telnet/ssh type while mysql is running and forum is CLOSED:

    mysqlcheck -r -u mysqlusername -p databasename

    4. or via myisamchk repair functions while mysql is shutdown/stopped in shell/telnet/ssh type :

    myisamchk -r -u root -p databasename

    option #4 most likely requires server and mysql root access to first stop mysql and then run myisamchk repair options.
