  • Permissions...probs

    Hi,
Ok, Im having a strange problem. I checked my Admin CP, and it looks like everything is ok, but for some reason, members, and even admins cannot view the replies in my news forum.
I checked the permissons, and "Can view others' threads" is set to yes.
I even checked the permissions for the usergroups, but still no luck.

    Anything else I should check?

    THanks.

Took another look, and I found out the problem...Well, I set the news forum so validation was required before a post is made, BUT it does that to ALL replies too.
After I validated the posts (just a while back) everying showed up, as it should

      Anyway to fix this?

      Thanks.

Post moderation applies to all posts (new threads and new replies).

You can edit group permissions at the forum level so certain user groups can't create new threads, but can post new replies. Is this what you wanted?

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Permissions

        Then turn off post moderation.

Admin CP -> Forums & Moderators -> Modify -> News -> [edit] -> Moderator Queue / Attachment Queue -> No

If you wanted post moderation on new threads only then you would need a hack. For hacks i recommend posting on www.vbulletin.org .

          I think so, lol.
Bascially, I want to make it so that Administrators must authorize a post for one forum. After that one post is authorized, I would like all the replies to be as normal.

It was setup this way, but I forgot how to do it.

          Thanks for your help.
